Group Biography

Patricia, Sandra, Caroline, Yenny and Hannah met while attending dance classes. Their dance teacher, a well-known TV host, was discussing new talents with a few friends and music producers. The producers were looking for a young band with star quality and she told them about the five talented girls in her class.

Their charm, talent and enthusiasm led the production and song-writing team of John Ballard and Alban Herlitz to approach the girls and their families to ask a simple question: "Would you like to make a record with us?". As a result of this, they signed a record contract with Tuff Studios who were also responsible for such international superstars as Ace of Base.

Bubbles' first single "Happy Girl" peaked at #6 in the Swedish chart and reached platinum status. It stayed in the charts for 26 weeks, which was longer than any other single that year.

The girls supported Swedish mega-star Markoolio on his tour throughout the summer of 2000 and finished it off with a stunning performance at the Globe Arena in Stockholm in front of 14,000 screaming fans. More than 500,000 people attended the successful summer tour!

Their follow-up single "Rock The World" reached the #2 spot and gold status before being deleted in order to increase album sales. It is counted one of the really big hits the year of 2000. Bubbles did a lot of TV shows and interviews during the fall and the lovely third single "X-Mas Time" was released in December reaching #12 in Swedish sales chart.

In January 2001 Bubbles appeared on the biggest national TV charity gala competing in a pop festival against a number of Sweden's most respected artists. They won with a new Swedish song "Regnbågens Barn" (Rainbow Child). The winning track was released on a double A-side single together with "I'll be there" and reached #7 in the sales chart, even without a video. This single also reached gold status.

The fifth and last single from the smashing debut album was to be "My Boyfriend". By then Bubbles were spending most of their time abroad in France, Holland and Belgium making various public appearances.

In the Summer of 2001, Bubbles performed with eight of their own hit songs at the summer gala Absolute Kidz Tour together with other popular Swedish artists such as Elvira, Shebang and Excellence. Despite them being youngest, Bubbles got the best reviews of all performing artists from the critics.

By then Bubbles were very popular in the Netherlands where their debut album "Rock The World" also made it to Gold status. During the fall, the record company in Germany wanted Bubbles to start gaining a fan base in their country too. As a result, for Christmas of 2001 they recorded a duet version of their hit single "X-Mas Time" with American star Kathy Kelly. The song title was changed to "It's Christmas Time" and they performed it at galas and on various German TV shows. In France, Bubbles performed on some of their biggest TV shows alongside artists such as Janet Jackson, Lenny Kravitz and Henri Salvador.

In February of 2002, Bubbles recorded the hit single "Somewhere" which was included in the soundtrack of the 20th Century Fox computer animated hit film "Ice Age". In their home country of Sweden, Bubbles managed to stay at the #1 spot for several weeks on the popular TV show Voxpop in competition with many worldwide artists.

During spring of 2002, Bubbles recorded the album "Inbetween" which was named to symbolise their currently being between childhood and adulthood, between being successful and worldwide stars and between record companies.

The video for "Round n Round" was filmed in Amsterdam, The Netherlands towards the end of summer 2002. Their second album "Inbetween" was very much delayed due to trouble between record companies and was finally released on November 4th 2002.

2003 kicked off with thunder and lightning when Bubbles made their really big media breakthrough by making it to the Melodifestivalen final with the hit single "T.K.O. (Knock You Out)". Melodifestivalen, which has been running annually since 1959, is a major competition used to determine the Swedish entry into the Eurovision Song Contest. Bubbles were well documented on covers, centrefolds and headlines in the papers and on TV every day for several weeks which made them well known to virtually all nine million Swedes.

For the first time since their debut single, Bubbles' focus during spring and summer of 2003 was on Sweden along. The largest Bubbles tour ever started on May 18th and through to September 30th, making more than 120,000 fans and families happy in 35 concerts all over the country.

On August 28th, the long awaited third album "BLESS" was released. This album contained more mature songs which were presented along with Bubbles maturing voices.

The album was followed by the release of "Hit the floor" as a single which reached #4 in the sales charts in December.

During spring of 2004, Bubbles chose to compete for a second consecutive year in the most Melodifestivalen. Participation the previous year was a complete success, so when Bubbles was offered the song "Blow The Spot" they couldn't turn it down. "Blow the spot" was written and produced by the internationally successful RedFlyMusic/TwinProduction who have worked with such artists as Mary J Blige, Kylie Minogue, Jamirouquai, S Club Juniors and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

Bubbles made huge headlines and billboards, making the most out of their performance with the production of "Blow The Spot". The song reached the Semi Final where they came 4th in their group. In the sales chart it managed a great result, reaching a stunning #2.

In May of 2006, Bubbles released "You Dog Me Out" (which apparently means "You're dissing me). Since the release of this, they have been working on a fourth album which is scheduled for release around spring of 2008. Currently available information indicates that "You Dog Me Out" will not be on the album however the current plan is for there to be another single before the album is released.
